‘Sky Won’t Fall’ review by The Blue Cafe

Blues Cafe review

Sky Won't Fall reviewCharlie Key has written a very personal review of Stevie Nimmo’s ‘Sky Won’t Fall’ on The Blues Cafe blog, it worth a read in full. He explains:

“I’ve waited a few weeks to write this review, just to check for my own sanity that I am not the only person on the planet getting hyped about this album. However, Sky Won’t Fall is flying and there is not a lot out there right now that can stop it, no doubt much to the delight of record label Manhaton Records.”

Bluebird album review

Sky Won't Fall reviewBluebird blog reviewed ‘Sky Won’t Fall’ here and had some great things to say about it!

“From the imperial attack of the opener Chains Of Hope, a true rock and roll firecracker, bouncing to the almost country-esque ballad Walk The Thin Line, to then buzzing to the sexy riffs of Nimmo’s guitar on that wonderful slow blues that is Gambler’s Roll, Sky Won’t Fall is like a series of pyrotechnical fireworks that dazzle the listeners in every track of the album.”

Guitarist

Guitarist album review
Guitarist Magazine’s April edition credits Stevie for his “smoking’ guitar skills” saying “the guitar playing throughout is rich and powerful – watch out for the band on tour this spring”

Blues in Britain

Sky Won't Fall reviewBlues in Britain made Stevie Nimmo’s tour with Ben Poole their front cover for their March edition. It also featured an in depth interview with both artists alongside album reviews. They said about Stevie’s ‘Sky Won’t Fall’:
“The explosive opener ‘Chains of Hope’ could be mistaken for Gary Moore at his rocking Thin Lizzy best, such is the impact of this barnstorming introduction. If there is a superior performance and a better produced album than this in 2016 it is going to be a very special year for the blues.”

Music News reviews Sky Wont Fall

Sky Won't Fall reviewAndy Sniper at Music News blog reviewed ‘Sky Won’t Fall’ and said:
“This is one hell of an album. Loaded with great songs and some stunning guitar from Stevie alongside his soulful bellow, this is an absolute belter. There isn’t weak track on the album but ‘Gambler’s Roll’ is probably the one I’ll come back to time and again.

Stevie Nimmo is, IMO, one of the best unsung players in the UK at the moment. Put him alongside the Laurence Jones, Dan Patlanskys or even Alan Nimmo and he definitely holds his own.

Moshville Times Album Review

Sky Won't Fall reviewMusic blog The Moshville Times reviewed ‘Sky Won’t Fall’ as said:

“The vocals on the album are nothing short of superb and Stevie has an incredibly strong confident voice which is difficult not to like.
A highlight of the album for me would be “Gamblers Roll”; a laid back track which conjurers up images of smoky bars with lone drinkers crying into their glasses of whisky. There’s a nice tasteful lightly overdriven guitar solo on this one which ramps up the intensity as it progresses. There’s lots of different dynamics on this song, going from soft and moody to a more aggressive rock feel, which is perhaps why I like it.”
